THE GYEONGGI LOCAL GOVERNMENT HAD MEETING WITH THE PERSONS CONCERNED OF JAPANESE COMPANIES ,THAT INVESTED IN KOREA, CONTRIBUTORS TO KOREA’S LOCAL ECONOMY AND ENCOURAGED “ADDITIONAL INVESTMENT”

The Gyeonggi delegation visiting Japan to make a successful hosting of “G_FAIR TOKYO” and to expand the overseas economic horizons of SMEs in Gyeonggi-province encouraged additional investment to the Japanese leading investment companies.

The Gyeonggi delegation, whom vice-governor of administrationⅡ is leading, had a dinner meeting with the Japanese-invested companies interested in Tokyo after the opening ceremony of G_FAIR TOKYO on the 9th.

The leading Japanese-invested companies concerned in Gyeonggi-province ,that have made a great contribution to Gyeonggi’s main industries, such as semiconductor equipment maker, Tokyo Electron, Ulvac famous for vacuum technology related to manufacturing semiconductor and display, touch sensor maker for display, Semitomo Chemical Company, and etc., participated in this meeting.

The above companies, that have been in Gyeonggi-province for more than 10 years, have been keeping production activity stable through several incremental investments and supplying immediately materials and equipment for semiconductor and display fields, Gyeonggi’s main industries ,to the customers.

The gyeonggi delegation, this day, explained the investment climate of Gyeonggi- province to the entrepreneurs with thanks for the investment and called attention to the continued one. Together, the delegation promised a positive administrative support for the management activities of the foreign-invested companies in Gyeonggi-province.

Especially, this day, Guri Kiyasu Yuki, president of Tokyo Electron, expressed gratitude, saying that the Whaseong R&D Center could continue to operate by the Gyeonggi Local Government’s solving the difficulties actively. The Whaseong Research Center is one of Tokyo Electron’s 3 research and development facilities worldwide, where the latest technology research goes. And the Gyeonggi Local Government solved quickly, through positive administrative support, the difficulties with the procedures to meet the standards of R&D Center caused by the recent amendments related to the operation of the research center.

The vice-governor said that it is important to attract the foreign companies, but more important to support well the attracted businesses to do business in a stable way and to develop into a company that can contribute to the local community. he, also, added that we, Gyeonggi Local Government, hope to grow together while continuing to cooperate in the future because the Japanese-invested companies and businesses in Gyeonggi-province have been developing in the major industrial sectors.
