CSR GOOD COMPANY REPORT NO.50 The volunteering activities with love that have been in 11 years by BorgWarner Morse Systems Korea.
GFCRC (Gyeonggi Foreign-invested Corporate Responsibility Center) matches for the businesses places that need a helping hand in the community and also provides a variety of activities for CSR.
BorgWarner Morse Systems Korea has served the public communities with various activities every year based on the business philosophy of “fulfilling roles and responsibilities earnestly as a member of the community.“ And the company has contributed to the community through various volunteer activities such as participation as a group in Pyeongtaek Marathon, prize donation through BorgWarner Run, campaign of a two-bird-one-stone solution for social contribution and health promotion, and donation of all the income from the held-twice-a-year charity cafe and flea market to the SOS Children’s Village.
On the foreign-invested company day, which was held last December, the company was awarded “governor’s plague of appreciation” for these distinguished services. This service for St. Joseph’s House has been going on for 11 years since 2008 as one of various social contribution activities of BorgWarner Korea. Since 2018, the volunteers of BorgWarner Korea have been doing more dense volunteering work using the weekend.
The St. Joseph’s House is a facility where seniors with hearing and speech impairment live together. This day, the volunteers meticulously cleaned and arranged everything in every detail in order to ensure that seniors will have fun and safe internal and external activities in the coming spring- cleaning the inside and outside of St. Joseph’s House such as flower garden, auditorium and nearby drainages, and arranging the waste woods left here and there by pruning.
A person in charge of the service of BorgWarner Korea promised better and more volunteering activities in the future, saying that it was heartwarming that we, volunteers, have done a little service so that seniors with hearing and speech impairment there can spend their last days comfortably in a cozy and pleasant environment. And the seniors living together at the facility get to be able to meet the coming spring in a cleaner environment thanks to BorgWarner Korea’s volunteers.
We, GFCRC, hope that BorgWarner Morse Systems Korea will grow bigger in partnership with the community through continuous and more diverse social contribution activities.CSR Activity Inquiry: Yoon Sara, assistant manager of GFCRC
