ENTEGRIS KOREA’S $20 MILLION-INCREASED INVESTMENT IN WHASEONG JANGAN FOREIGN INVESTMENT ZONE Ⅱ

Entegris Korea, semiconductor material maker residing in Whaseong Jangan Foreign Industrial Zone Ⅱ, started the extension work of production facilities on 8th after deciding to make a 20 million-dollar-increased investment in Gyeonggi-province.

An innovation industry policy officer of Gyeonggi Local Government and Kim Jaewon, CEO of Entegris Korea signed a business agreement on increased investment and had a ground-breaking ceremony together at the head office of Entegris Korea located at Whaseong Jangan Industrial Complex Ⅱ Entegris ,with a headquarters in Villerica, Massachusetts of the United States, entered Korea in 1996 as a company that produces chemicals and special containers for semiconductors. Entegris Korea, with about 300 employees, has a head office in Suwon and manufacturing facilities at Whaseong Jangan in Gyeonggi-province and Moonmok in Kangwaon-province.

Entegris Korea decided to re-invest $20 million(KRW 22 billion), profits obtained after entering Korean market and signed this biz agreement. In accordance with the agreement, Entegris Korea plans to install the manufacturing facilities that can produce the high-purity chemical special containers for semiconductor process and to recruit 50 new workers.

An innovation industry policy officer of Gyeonggi Local Government thanked Entegris Korea for the decision to re-invest profits from Korean market and said that Gyeonggi Local Government will help the foreign-invested companies grow significantly through active administrative support.
And Lee Jaewon, CEO of Entegris Korea, said that it is a great advantage for korea, which leads the world’s semiconductor and display technologies, to have its main customers and supply chain near the factory, and Entegris Korea will be able to respond more quickly to customers’ demands for various prior technology developments when a new plant is built through increased investment in the future.
